THE “NEW COMPLETE BUILDING” OF THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM IS UNDERWAY. In 2013, the General Directorate of Professional Supervision concluded that the building of the Natural History Museum was “in a state of disrepair and unusable,” and the museum’s operations were suspended by order of the then Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism. As a result, on May 1, 2019, the construction of the new building of the Natural History Museum began by decision of the Government, and today (as of 2025) the work is continuing according to plan. The opening of Block C, or the Paleontology Hall, in August 2026 is a long-awaited event. With the commissioning of the new National Museum of Natural Sciences, it will: • Meet world standards, • Be ranked 7th in Asia, • Preserve valuable natural science, history and cultural heritage, • Expand into a large integrated complex for scientific analysis and research. Thus Children, youth, scientists, and the general public will have ample opportunities to study the wonders of nature, history, and ecology on a scientific basis and improve their cognitive education.
